There was a lot of unknown and even more speculation about what was going to happen in business immediately after the COVID lockdown.  What actually happened caused a lot of surprises.  Smaller retailers that sold products that the major supermarkets retail in enjoyed a great boost in trade due to people shying away from large and populated shops and re-visiting their local retailer.

My three biggest tips are improving your systems as best as possible so that the business operates without you but also have a strategy in place that the next owner or a new manager can hire the right person as best as you could.  Lastly, have your financial data as clear as possible.  You’re not selling to your buyer, your selling to your buyer’s accountant and other advisors.
